Olive Oil & Pringadas

If there is something important in Spanish Gastronomy and Mediterranean Diet, this is with no doubts "Olive Oil". Phoenicians and Greeks introduced Olive trees in the Iberian peninsula, but were Romas and Arabs who extended the olive crops and improved the methods to make oil from them. Indeed, the word "Aceite" has an arab origin “al-zait” meaning "olive juice".
Is there a better way to try and enjoy Spanish olive oil than spreading it on a slice of fresh bread? Probably not. And, if olive oil tastes too bitter or strong, just try to add some sugar onto it!

Fancy chocolate

Chocolate has been shown to be a healthy food, but does this apply to all kind of chocolate sweets? Of course not. Only dark chocolate made directly from cocoa beans powder is rich in chemicals like flavonoids and theobromine, and so recognised as a disease-killing bullet. The only problem? Cacao on its own is bitter, chalky, nasty stuff. When cacao is mixed with sugar, milk and butter it becomes good for your taste buds, but not always good for your health. Besides adding calories, these can dilute the benefits of cacao.
In the Ritter Sport Factory we learnt how to produce your own fancy chocolate. To make it healthier you can just use skimmed milk, oil and brown sugar instead of full-fat milk, cocoa butter and refined sugar. Later you can even increased the nutitional value of your chocolate by combining it with seeds like almonds or hazelnuts-rich in minerals and proteins- better than with candies.
